
How It All Started
It all began with a cranky email.
Picture me at work, trying to craft a polite and professional response to someone who was, let’s just say, having a day.
I turned to AI for help. Upon pulling up the prompt input, I spotted the suggestion, “show me an intricate 5-course meal that showcases the world’s cuisine.” Intrigued (and possibly procrastinating), I clicked it.
What popped up was impressive. That got me thinking. Out of curiosity, I asked for a meal plan based on the 1950s. Why you may ask. Because I’d recently been flipping through a cookbook my Nana had given me, that had been a wedding present of hers back in the 1950s. I was curious to taste what the ’50s were really like.
The result? A surprisingly solid meal plan. And that’s when it hit me: POW! What if I created meal plans based on different moments in history? What if I could eat my way through time and taste a snapshot of the past?
Our tables tell stories about who we are, what we value, and the traditions we carry. From there, my imagination went into overdrive. I could spend a year exploring the history and food of one country, then move on to another. A forever learning journey, one bite at a time.
